Dr. Margherita Mantovani

Margherita Mantovani earned her PhD in Religious Studies from Sapienza University of Rome and from the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes. She has been Albin Salton Short-Term Fellow (The Warburg Institute), Frances A. Yates Short-Term Fellow (The Warburg Institute), Raffaele Pettazzoni Post-Doctoral Fellow (Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei) and a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge (University of Pisa).
Since January 2020 she will be post-doctoral researcher at the Institut de recherche et d’histoire des textes (CNRS UPR 841, Paris). Her research interests include Hebrew and Aramaic manuscripts, Jewish-Christian relations in antiquity and late antiquity, Second Temple Judaism and Christian origins, early and medieval Jewish ‘mysticism’ (with particular focus on the Hekhalot literature and the Sefer Sha‘are Orah and their reception in the Renaissance).
