Vlog episode highlights healing benefits of horse therapy for veterans
Horse therapy is a form of therapy that involves horses in physical, emotional, and especially psychological rehabilitation. It is hoped that the horse will have a positive effect on a person's mental health.
So riding a horse can increase self-confidence, improve self-esteem and help overcome emotional challenges. It can be especially helpful for people with autism, anxiety disorders, PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) and other mental health issues.
In the new episode of our YouTube series "Saddle up scholars! - A Cowboy church diary," Anna Kira Hippert takes us to a Horse therapy sponsored by Risen Ranch Cowboy Church's "Charlie 22" program. This vlog gives rare insight into dealing with PTSD-stricken veterans and shows that a cowboy church does focus on serious issues.
