Visiting Professor at the Institute of Religious Studies at Jagiellonian University in Kraków

Yesterday, Carmen Meinert, Professor of Central Asian Religions and PI of the ERC project BuddhistRoad presented the research programme and results of the BuddhistRoad project at the Institute of Religious Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Carmen Meinert is currently a Visiting Professor at the institute in Kraków, teaching Central Asian religions and the transfer of Buddhism to Eastern Central Asia. With her students she is exploring some of the topics dealt with in the BuddhistRoad project, such as mechanisms of religious patronage, the development of sacred spaces, and the latest Tantric Buddhist ritual techniques of the 12th century in Dunhuang. Her visit to Kraków is part of an ongoing cooperation between CERES and the Institute of Religious Studies at the Jagiellonian University.
