As head of the assembly of German-Turkish parliamentarians and member of the Bundestag's Committee on Foreign Affairs, she especially discussed the rising impact of religion on foreign policies. The focus was espcially laid on migrant such as Turkish Muslim communities and re-migrating Evangelical Germans from the former Soviet Union.
Another topic was the CERES programme for knowledge transfer: CERES offers different training modes for public administration on the topic of religious plurality. It has established a growing platform for an exchange between practitioners and scientists. Her visit was concluded with a discussion round with students.
