Since he had left German Bundestag as MP in last autumn, Volker Beck has been an associated lecturer to the Center for Religious Studies (CERES). During the winter term he has been teaching a course on "Religionspolitik", politics of religion, and its actors, as well as interests and debates conected to this field of politics.
German national radio station Deutschlandfunk interviewed Volker Beck on the recent challenges of poltics of religion, among other the state of Turkish Muslim organisation Ditib. Beck strongly advocates that both German politicans as well as administration should gain and heigthen more knowledge on religions, religious plurality, and the legal framework. In this regard he also describes his new position as associated lecturer and how this topic effects students.
