Dr. Sezgin will introduce an analytical framework for studying transnational migrant organizations and the border-crossing contexts in which they develop and function. Particularly, she will present four ideal types of cross-border migrant organizations (global, focal, multinational and transnational). She will then use this analytical framework to analyze the border-crossing aims, activities, resources and structures of two faithbased migrant organizations located in Germany: Islamic Community Millî Görüş (Islamische Gesellschaft Millî Görüş: IGMG) and European Federation of Alevi Communities (Avrupa Alevi Birlikleri Federasyonu: AABF).
