The Center for Religious Studies (CERES) at Ruhr-Universität Bochum is one of the largest centers for comparative religious studies in Europe. It is currently responsible for twelve third-party-funded research projects, the subject of Religious Studies (BA/MA), as well as extensive measures in the area of knowledge transfer. For the sub-project “Historia Magistra Vitae: Historical Knowledge against Anti-Semitism” we are looking for a part-time (5 hrs/wk) student assistant (SHK) (m/f/d) from 01.09.2024. The sub-project is part of the BMBF-funded joint project EMPATHIA³ (see https://www.fona21.org/verbundprojekte/empathia), which is dedicated to the question of what prospective police officers and teachers need to know about Jewish life and anti-Semitism.
Your tasks:
- Support with research work and literature procurement
- Proofreading assistance
- Support in the planning and implementation of workshops
Your profile:
- Student in religious studies or a comparable humanities or social science degree program
- Initial experience in academic work
- Good knowledge of German and/or English
- Flexibility, reliability, teamwork and communication skills

Further information:
The position with a workload of 5 hours per week is limited until 31.07.2025. The employment is as a student assistant and is based on § 6 of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG). The hourly wage is €13.25.
The working days and hours will be determined with regard to the requirements of the course.
