Public Lectures & Talks
CERES is an established, nationwide partner for the organization of academic lectures, including for the non-academic public. While CERES handles numerous individual enquiries, it has also initiated its own series of events in cooperation with Blue Square Bochum. Under the title "Religions from Aha to Zen", for instance, CERES researchers convey the complexity, diversity, and dynamics of religions and present the multifaceted nature of religious and non-religious worldviews. The lecture series casts a look not only back to ancient Egypt and the protective god Aha but also to the present, e.g. by discussing western practices of Zen Buddhism and their significance for creative aspects. The lecture series also examines the social connections of religions and provides space for discussion.
