This presentation is part of my ongoing project and forms part of the final dissertation. The presentation is divided into two parts: first, an introduction to the thesis, followed by the presentation of the Manichaean creation in terms of the Cosmic Trap. The Manichaean cosmos is conceived as a purifying machine for the divine light, which is swallowed up by the demons, and trapped in the mixture. In addition, the Manichaean creation is also structured as a cosmic trap for the power of darkness. The presentation will discuss the cosmological layers that make up this trap in relation to the mythological sections that describe the creation of such a structure.
