 h proposals is a special genre. To successfully acquire research funding -
  be it for a doctoral thesis or a postdoc - there are a few things to cons
 ider. In this workshop\, we want to introduce doctoral students and early 
 career postdocs to the basics and strategies of research proposals to acqu
 ire third-party funding for their research. The workshop will focus on the
  German Research Foundation (DFG) funding schemes.\n\nFirst\, the workshop
  will give an overview of the DFG programmes and go into the “Dos and Do
 n'ts” of grant writing. We will then examine two concrete examples of DF
 G research applications and their reviews. Based on these examples and int
 eractive discussions\, you will learn how to develop a research idea into 
 a project proposal and match it with the objectives of a specific DFG fund
 ing programme. Further\, you will learn how to structure proposals to comp
 ly with the funding conditions of the respective funding programme and con
 sider the reading behaviour of reviewers.
