DESCRIPTION:Markdown is a simple text format that allows the uncomplicated
  formatting of texts and is now used in various contexts. For example\, ta
 sk descriptions or wiki pages in GitLab can be enriched with formatting su
 ch as lists\, links or similar using Markdown. But even entire scientific 
 articles can be written with Markdown and automatically converted into var
 ious formats such as DOCX\, PDF or HTML. Automatic references and bibliogr
 aphies can also be integrated. The articles of the online journal Entangle
 d Religions\, for example\, are now written entirely in Markdown and conve
 rted into PDF and HTML.
