 art and religion in the Asian room of the museum "Situation Kunst" (Bochum
 ).\n\nFrom November 2016 to February 2017\, Patrick Krüger\, expert of B
 uddhist art and religion\, will give an accessible introduction to Buddhis
 m\, its history and its iconic language in five talks. In each talk\, he w
 ill present one theme in the library of the museum and then illustrate the
  important aspects in the midst of the Buddhist art collection in the Asia
 n room. Questions and discussions are highly welcome.\n\nIn Asian traditio
 ns\, the lotus is a general symbol of purity and vitality\, while in Buddh
 ist traditions it specifically also stands for knowledge and enlightenment
 . In this sense\, the announced talks intend to provide knowledge of Buddh
 ist art and objects.\n\nAll talks will be given in German. \n\nAddress:
