DESCRIPTION:Recent archaeological research in Samarkand has uncovered nume
 rous epigraphical and pictorial materials\, enhancing our understanding of
  the culture and history of pre-Islamic Central Asia\, where local written
  sources remain scarce. This talk will primarily focus on artifacts such a
 s sealings and wooden boards from Kafir-kala (Rēwdāt)\, along with relat
 ed new materials from other sites excavated in collaboration with the Sama
 rkand Archaeological Institute and several Japanese academic organizations
 . The talk aims to provide an update on the research findings and introduc
